ActivEdge Quantum Edge Coil Unit
Featured in: Oceano, Cedar Natural Luxe, Crystal Cove, and Hybrid Latex
These hybrid latex mattresses feature the Leggett and Platt ActivEdge Quantum Edge innerspring unit. The Quantum Edge coils provide a reinforced perimeter, made up of narrow-diameter Quantum® coils, which deliver a consistent sleep surface and reduce that roll-off the bed feeling.
Bolsa fabric encased coils provide an even surface that absorbs partner movement and prevents sleepers from rolling into each other. This system features pre-compressed coils that create a firm sleep surface, which makes the unit more responsive to body movements, and stress-relieved wire to hold shape and provide a durable and consistent sleep surface.
Our 8-inch ActivEdge Quantum® Edge coil unit from Leggett & Platt® features up to 975 individually pocketed coils made from upcycled U.S. steel, plus a reinforced perimeter.
Coil counts: Twin: 572, Twin XL: 681, Full: 727, Queen: 789, King: 975, Cal King: 958.
Gauge Count
The dark blue zones (in the above photo) have a 13.75-gauge and the light blue perimeter zones and white zones have a 16-gauge count. Lower gauge numbers indicate the steel is thicker. The edges use a thinner 16-gauge metal, but are coiled more tightly and have more coils per surface area that provides extra edge support.
Micro-Coil System
Our Oceano Mattress also features a row of 2.4"-thick micro-coils — a performance layer that eliminates the need for extra foam that delivers durable, responsive comfort. They add an extra level of comfort and durability and sag-resistance that outshines other comfort layer materials, like foam.
Quantum Edge Coil System

The hybrid version of our Cypress Mattress includes the Quantum® Edge innerspring unit, which features side rails made up of our narrow-diameter Quantum coils with Caliber steel. Quantum side rails deliver enhanced support at the edge of the bed and the Caliber head and foot coils offer a more supportive edge than foam encasement.
Coil counts: Twin: 536, TwinXL: 572, Full: 681, Queen: 789, King: 975, Cal King: 958.
Gauge Count
The Quantum coils on the perimeter are 16-gauge. They're turned tighter and have more coils for extra edge support. The Caliber steel springs at the head and foot are 13.75-gauge. The lower the number, the thicker the steel.
