One Year Trial in Your Home

When changing to a new mattress — any new mattress — expect it to take some time for your body to adjust and acclimate. One night just won't do. So we offer one of the best in-home sleep trials available in the industry — especially for an American-made product! For products other than mattresses, click here to review the trial policy.

Here's How the One Year (365 Days) Sleep Trial Works:

  1. Sleep on your new Brentwood Home mattress for at least 30 days. Your one-year trial period starts upon receipt of your mattress.

  2. If you're not happy, let us know via our Contact page or web chat. Please give us a chance to make recommendations or help make it right.

  3. If you want to proceed with a return after 30 days and within 365 days, we'll start the return process. Refunds are paid only after your mattress is received in good condition by Brentwood Home for recycling or a direct charitable donation is verified.

How Are Mattresses Returned?

  1. Because our mattresses come compressed in a box, you do not have to ship the mattress back to us or try to get it back in the original box. Instead, our large and experienced customer service team will work with you to coordinate the return, and will arrange pickup for you. There are no return shipping or restocking fees.

  2. Although we can have the returned mattress picked up right away by a partner service, our priority is to have the mattress donated to a worthy local nonprofit or responsibly recycled. Yes, this takes a bit more coordination and effort, but we firmly believe it is the most responsible and sustainable choice.

  3. We cannot and do not resell used mattresses.

What Exclusions Apply?

  1. Our serviceable area for complimentary mattress pickups, returns, exchanges and refunds is the continental United States only, excluding Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories and international locations. Mattresses taken outside of our serviceable area must be returned to our service area at the owners risk and expense in order to be eligible.

  2. If you finance your mattress via Affirm®, you’ll receive a full refund less any applicable financing fees paid to date directly via Affirm.

  3. Products must be in a condition suitable for donation to be eligible for return (i.e., no stains, tears, excessive odors, or soiling) with the law tag attached to the mattress and in its original, unaltered state. We require photo(s) to confirm that your mattress is in appropriate condition to be donated. Protect your mattress with our Mattress Pad Protector.

  4. Our sleep trial is limited to one return of each product type per household. If you exchange a product, it ends your sleep trial for that product type (mattress, topper, base, sheets, etc.) and no other sleep trials are eligible for your household in the future for that product type. (The only exception is pillows, for which two may be returned from a single order, since they are often bought in pairs.) We define this household-wide policy by your customer name, or shipping address, or billing method/account or billing address.

  5. In-Home Delivery & Setup services are nonrefundable.

  6. Orders that are cancelled or refused after shipping, and orders that are returned before the 30-day minimum trial, are subject to a 15% restocking fee.

  7. Your mattress must be used on a foundation or non-yielding bed frame with proper structural support. A proper bed frame is defined, for the purpose of this policy, as having at least five to six leg supports for a Queen, King, and California King Mattress, four leg supports for Twin, Twin XL and Full Mattresses. For Queen, King, and California King slatted style bed frames, no more than five 5 inches between each slat are allowed in order to provide ample structural support for the foundation and user(s). Box springs, which contain springs and therefore can sag over time, may not provide proper structural support and are not recommended.

  8. Mattresses used directly on the floor are excluded, as the combination of body heat, restricted airflow, humidity and the proximity to existing bacterias on a floor may cause molds to form.

  9. The mattress must have been rotated head-to-toe, once a month for the first six months, then every other month, to ensure even wear.

  10. The mattress box must have been opened within 30 days of receipt.

  11. The sleep trial for a Crib Mattress is 100 days.

  12. Furniture and our adjustable bases are non-refundable.

  13. Items that were not paid for — such as the two free pillows included in some of our sales — are not eligible for a sleep trial or returns.
